Well the latest exciting news in the Allen family is that we are expecting baby #2! Baby will be coming at the end of October. My dad is really hoping for his birthday, October 19th, but we'll see.
For the most part I have been feeling pretty good. I only had one bad night leaning over the toilet. Which, unfortunately, is more than I ever threw up when I was pregnant with Jeffrey. With Jeffrey I threw up a grand total of zero times and it was wonderful. Other than that one dark and stormy night I've just had the usual pregnancy complaints: nausea, tiredness, occasional dizziness, and I'm sure Danny would say I've had some occasional grouchiness.
Right now I am 10 1/2 weeks along but already feel like my clothes don't want to fit. I've only gained 1 1/2 lbs but I've graduated to the drawstring jeans and sweatpants most of the time. They say you show earlier in your subsequent pregnancies, right?
Jeffrey is not quite sure what to think when we talk about the baby in Mommy's tummy. He's convinced it lives in my bellybutton. For the first couple times we mentioned it he pointed at his bellybutton and said "Baby in Jeffrey's tummy too." I guess that'll take a while to really understand.
Soon we'll post pictures so you can all see how huge I will get. Danny's hoping for a little girl, I'll be happy with either a girl or a boy. We'll keep you posted!

Wow it's been a while!
Well I guess it's been a while since I've blogged and a lot has happened. We have a wonderful new addition to our family. Jeffrey Dayle Allen, he is now 19 months old and a disaster area! When he was born he was a sweet little angel. Now he is a sweet little angel, but only when he's sleeping.
His favorite activities include making cookies, playing in the swing, jumping, and fishing. He's not a very good fisherman, he's lost two fishing poles already this year!
A few weeks ago Danny and I did the Share-A-Smile triathlon. It was a 400 meter swim, 11 mile bike, and 5K run. I am very proud of myself that I finished it and had so much fun. I even beat Danny at the swim, I finished in 11 minutes and 4 seconds, he finished in 11 minutes and 8 seconds :) Grandma Debbie was very nice and played with Jeffrey so we could participate in the race and he had so much fun there! Some of our family helped out as race support, here is my cousin Leslie with us, she also competed and she kicked my fanny! I'm just not as hard-core as she is.
I will really try to be better about blogging! We have a funny little family and lots of funny stories to share!

Resolutions 2009
Well, it is officially the start of another year. And that means one thing, time for New Year's Resolutions... I don't like making resolutions because I always seem to forget about them until December and then they just make me feel bad for not achieving them. I guess the important thing to remember is that resolutions aren't pass or fail assignments. Resolutions are about continually striving to improve ourselves.
I learned a really neat analogy about resolutions. The different areas of our lives are like the spokes on a bicycle wheel. If you go around the circle, tightening as you go, then the wheel is thrown out of balance and it is not longer perfectly round. As you tighten the spokes, you have to work on opposite sides so the wheel isn't thrown out of alignment. So this year, I have resolved to tighten my spokes on opposite sides of the wheel. I need to focus on several different areas of my life, I shouldn't make all of my resolutions be spiritual or academic. But I am going to try to find balance and work on different areas of my life. My resolutions can be academic, spiritual, physical, emotional, financial, or mental, but my resolutions will definitely not be confined to one singular area of my life.
I also think that if I post my resolutions, then maybe I won't forget them by next week. I will also hold myself more accountable to keep my resolutions if I think that maybe someone somewhere also knows about them. So ladies and gentlemen, here are my resolutions for the year 2009:

- Stay organized in my school work by keeping a planner and dividing my classes into binders.
- Be on time for church.
- Read the Sunday School lessons before church so I can be better prepared to learn and feel the influence of the Holy Ghost.
- Balance my checkbook so I don't get charged any overdraft fees :P
- Participate in the Share-A-Smile triathlon.
